Kuala Lumpur
This will be a really quick post. We are currently in Kuala Lumpur, soon to board our VietnamAir flight to Hanoi via Ho Chi Minh City.
We had very little time in KL, it was even a toss-up whether we ventured out of the airport. We did and it was worth while.
It is like being in a sauna here. We landed at 6:30 and it was already 25C. It is only 1 and hte heat is in everything. We got to the Petronas Towers which are very impressive and had a really quick look at some famous market or other. If you've been to Victoria Market I think you've sene the better version.
The train system here is excellent - fast, frequent and clean. The airports are a long way from the city centre. We got the bus out of the airport we arrived in and we must have gone over 6 motorways, with 2 toll gates on the way. It took about an hour. We took the airport train to this airport (different one to the one we arrived in). It was a fast train and still took 28 minutes but only cost $12 each - cheaper than the Melbourne Airport bus. The airport we arrived in looked like Melbourne airport 30 years ago, this one looks like the new T4 at Heathrow - it's really nice.
For football followers - the trip started with an excellent 2-0 win for the Victory, and i just read that Leeds beat QPR 2-0 to go second in the Championship :)
We also came across a customer from my days at Carlsen Consulting - Maybank!
